Red Light District of the Bahnhofsviertel
In Frankfurt, the sex zone takes up nearly four blocks a few streets from the main rail station, in the Bahnhof Quarter. Within steps of the Hauptbahnhof and a short taxi ride or a couple of tram stops from the Frankfurt Messe convention center, the district comes alive with people when the sky turns dark. The “red light” district is a mix of brothels called Eros Centers, in multi-story buildings of four or five floors with glowing lights in the windows, surrounded by night clubs with table dancing and champagne bars, the familiar and exotic - the Miami Sauna Club, Stars, and America. Some of the sex houses are actually national chains, like Leierkasten, some local spots only like Love Haus 44, some with no name, only a sign “girls” with an arrow.
There is no “madame” in charge, here the girls are essentially independent contractors who rent the rooms. Wander the halls, if the door is open the girl is available, if it’s closed, she’s occupied. Services are negotiated individually. If more entertainment time is your goal, the district has a number of erotic movie cabin shops, like the vaguely clinical sounding Dr Müller’s Erotik Shop, and regular bars and clubs as well with big screen TVs for watching sports matches, and pool parlors upstairs at the Merkur Spielbank. The girls working the street in Frankfurt are more huckstering for the champagne bars. The district is safe and really just part of the city life, bright and colorful like a theme park of adult delights with shops and restaurants just around the corner.

Getting There: Between Moselstrasse and Weserstrasse to the east and west and Kaiserstrasse and Niddastrasse to the north and south. Tram lines 11 and 12 from the Hauptbahnhoff stop, or Munchener/Weserstrasse.
